Centex Homes Builds Swimming Pool to Accommodate High School Students

Published Aug 23, 2007

The metro Atlanta division of Centex Homes is taking “community involvement” to a new level through its unique partnership with Brookwood High School.

When Centex was planning its 90-home Gwinnett county community Estates at Nash Lake, the company became a supporter of the prestigious Brookwood public school district, known for its strong academics and athletic program. Centex approached Brookwood High School’s ( BHS) swim coach regarding an interest in moving swim practices and meets to a new outdoor facility being built by the community. When the school agreed, Centex and BHS worked together to create a custom-engineered Junior Olympic-size swimming pool to accommodate BHS and other surrounding schools.

Aside from its partnership with the BHS swim team, Centex has committed $45,000 to the Brookwood High School Athletic Program through 2008.

In addition to its home building operations, Centex’s (www.centex.com) related business lines include mortgage, financial and home services.
