The AT&T Classic has a long tradition of raising money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, but this year’s Classic contributed more than just funding. The Foundation for Hospital Art, an organization dedicated to providing hospitals with colorful, soothing artwork to help soften the stressful hospital experience, partnered with tournament organizers, the Atlanta Classic Foundation, and event sponsor, Southern Company at the tournament in a program called PaintFest.
Patients and staff at Children’s at Egleston saw the result of this donation with the recent delivery of 14 six-panel paintings created by nearly 2,000 spectators, tour players and volunteers during the PGA tournament at Sugarloaf in May 2007.
“Our patients and families will truly be able to benefit from this wonderful program,” said Scott Hodoval, vice president of development at Children’s. “Thanks to our friends with the Atlanta Classic Foundation, the Foundation for Hospital Art and Southern Company, these paintings will grace the walls of our facilities for many years to come.”
