Before the bustle of the holidays begins, Aurora Theatre invites you to a theatrical event that will remind us of the reason for the season -- The Gospel of John at Aurora Theatre.  Show times are November 8–10 at 8 p.m. and November 11 at  2:30 p.m.

Seven years ago, Atlanta-based actor Brad Sherrill began learning the entire Gospel of John as a personal calling of his own faith. Today, his spiritual quest has grown into an international theatrical sensation.

This inspirational solo performance turns the almost 20,000 words of the Fourth Gospel into two hours of compelling theatre. See God’s scripture come to life on the Metro Waterproofing Strickland Family Main Stage at Aurora Theatre.

With modest beginnings as a recitation for his church in Chamblee, this simple but elegant show has played theatres and churches across North America and the United Kingdom, including London, Chicago, Off-Broadway and now Lawrenceville.

“My mission first and foremost in presenting John is to deepen my personal relationship with Christ. Secondly, by drawing on my own faith in the Word and by utilizing the gifts God has given me in my work as a professional actor, I hope to bring John's entire Gospel to life in performance,” states Sherrill.

Brad Sherrill has acted professionally in Atlanta since 1983. He was selected by Atlanta Magazine in 2000 as Atlanta's Best Dramatic Actor and by Creative Loafing in 2001 as Atlanta's Best Actor. He has performed in 15 productions at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre and is an Artistic Associate for the Georgia Shakespeare Theatre where he has acted in more than 30 productions in 12 seasons. In addition, he has performed in many plays at Marietta's Theatre in the Square, the Horizon Theater, Actor's Express, Theatre Emory and the Georgia Ensemble Theatre. Brad began acting at the age of eleven at Chamblee First United Methodist Church where he is still a member.
