Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation Opens DeShong Park in Stone Mountain

Join Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation as we celebrate the grand opening of our newest park, DeShong Park in Stone Mountain, on Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. followed by free festivities until 2 p.m., including skateboarding, basketball, and horseshoe demonstrations, a skateboarding clinic, as well as free make-and-take crafts, a giant inflatable slide, face painting and temporary tattoos. Food vendors will also be on site selling Italian ice and barbecue.
Amenities at DeShong Park include a two-acre open play area, 1.5-mile multi-purpose trail, lawn court area with horseshoe pits, chess and checker tables, a teen area with two half-court basketball courts, 11,000 square-foot skate complex with streetscape elements, a playground with swings and climbing structures, and restroom facilities.
