Gwinnett County District 3 Commissioner Mike Beaudreau takes his monthly open house on the road this month and will meet with constituents on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the new DeShong Park. The commissioner’s meeting coincides with the park’s grand opening. Those who wish to meet with Commissioner Beaudreau will find him at a tent set up near the horseshoe pit. Signs will direct visitors to the exact location. He will meet with the public immediately following the 10 a.m. ribbon cutting through 2 p.m.
“The idea behind these monthly Saturday office hours is that anyone can stop in, without scheduling a formal appointment, and I will be there to listen,” said Beaudreau. “The only difference this month will be the location.”
An official ribbon cutting for DeShong Park will take place at 10 a.m. followed by festivities such as free children’s activities, skateboarding safety clinics and demonstrations, and horseshoe and basketball demonstrations that day. DeShong Park is located at 2859 North DeShong Road in Stone Mountain.
Gwinnett County’s Commission District 3 covers the eastern part of the county from the Highway 78 corridor north to I-85, and includes the cities of Snellville, Loganville, Grayson, Dacula and Auburn.
