Public Invited to Give Input on Design of New Park Near Beaver Ruin Road

Published Sep 6, 2007

Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation (GCPR) will hold a public meeting to get input and suggestions to assist in the design of a new park in Gwinnett County located near the intersections of Beaver Ruin Rd., Satellite Blvd. and Interstate 85. Those attending will fill out a “recreation desires” survey and have the opportunity to submit applications to serve on a steering committee to assist in the master planning of this park.

The meeting will be held on Thurs., Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Meadowcreek High School Theater, 4455 Steve Reynolds Blvd. in Norcross.

“This park is being planned based on the findings of the 2004 Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan’s recommendation to build a Special Purpose Neighborhood Park in this area of the county,” said Grant Guess, Project Administration Division Director for GCPR.

A continuing drive behind the vision of GCPR is citizen involvement and participation in all areas of park planning. GCPR is working to offer a balanced and variety of programs at different locations in its inventory of 35 open parks, with more than a dozen planned to open over the next four years.

GCPR’s top three priorities in providing quality parks and leisure activities are to maintain a high level of community involvement, maintain and provide safe programs and facilities, and develop more high quality parks and facilities to meet the demands of a growing population.
