Grandparents Day at Amicalola Falls State Park in September

Published Aug 27, 2008

Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge is celebrating Grandparents Day on September 7th, 2008, with several special programs that are sure to make memories to last a lifetime.

The day of events begins at the park’s Lodge with a guided nature walk in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.  Grandparents and grandchildren alike will love the fine-feathered owl ambassadors in “That’s Owl Folks”, an educational owl program.

In the afternoon at the Visitor’s Center, join park staff as they re-introduce some good old-fashioned games.  Don’t forget your cameras for capturing the picture-perfect moments with your grandchildren, because the final activity is creating fun frames.

When was the last time you and your grandchild sat down for a meal together?  Enjoy Sunday Brunch in the park at the Maple Restaurant located in the Lodge.  The Sunday Brunch is offered 11:30 am – 3:00 pm.

The $3 parking pass allows you to enjoy a day of adventure with your family.  All activities and programs are free (except Sunday Brunch).  For more information, call the Programming Department at 706-265-1969.  Amicalola Falls State Park is located between Dahlonega and Ellijay on Highway 52.
