The Pinckneyville Community Center and the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse will sponsor an exhibit of two-dimensional work by Ingrid Bolton and Sherri Hale titled "Inspirations in Color." The event will be featured at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, located at 185 W. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville from May 25 - August 22.
An opening reception will be held on May 31 from 7-9 p.m. Exhibit hours are Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Sat. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. Admission is free. Works featured in this exhibit are in different mediums from oil to mixed media.
Ingrid Bolton: Ingrid Bolton simply states: “I am on the most exciting journey of my life as I explore the fascinating and challenging world of creating art.” She has always enjoyed being creative, and her “golden years” provide the perfect opportunity to finally nurture her life-long artistic longings and realize her dream of being an artist. Although oil painting is Bolton’s primary interest, she has dabbled in various mediums such as acrylics and other art forms such as creating Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs). Oils allow her to express harmony through their rich and deep satin-like properties, while acrylics provide spontaneity, infusing greater energy to her work. Whether painting landscapes, flowers, animals, portraits or anything that surrounds her, she strives for an artistic interpretation that captures the spirit, beauty or mood of the moment.
Sherri Hale: Art can mean different things to different people. Hale finds the process of ‘creating’ something therapeutic, challenging, intriguing and peaceful all at the same time, and on occasion finds that it can be a means of parting with emotions. However, what she enjoys most is creating something that holds meaning, or sentimental value, for someone else. Hale began oil painting in 2000 and has since produced over 150 oil paintings in a variety of styles.
